#2024 Quilting Q2 and Q3 Check-In from Quilting & Learning

Hi and welcome. I missed the second quarter (Q2) check-in but since I found writing up a first quarter (Q1) check-in post so useful, I'm going to put both Q2 and Q3 here. I hope that you'll indulge me - it is a long post.

Second Quarter Check-in

Although I worked on a few larger projects, most of my finishes in the second quarter were smaller pieces.

Cathedral Windows op de machine from Quilting Trui

 

Vanmiddag even naar de  koopjesweek van Cordi in Groningen geweest. 

Een kleurrijke winkel vól stofjes en andere hebbedingen.

Tijdens een lekker kopje thee trok mijn tasje bekijks en kwam de techniek ter sprake.

Omdat het wat lastig uit te leggen was, had ik beloofd de werkwijze op mijn site uit te leggen, maar inmiddels heb ik besloten er een workshop in te geven volgend voorjaar! 

Houd deze site dus goed in de gaten!

Dit is het tasje in de techniek.

ik heb het gedaan.



Wat heb je gedaan Goof?


M'n dienblaadje erbij gepakt,
en,


ik ben op kleur gaan winkelen in m'n eigen quiltwinkel.
De opdracht was,
zoek frisse vrolijkheid in lapjes.


In de tinten
blauw, rood, geel, groen, roze en licht.


voor iets wat al wat jaartjes in m'n hoofd zat om ooit te maken,
vanaf het allereerste moment dat ik de quilt op Instagram zag,
en ik er heel erg blij van werd.

Night of the Dragonfly from Shelley Swanland

Night of the Dragonfly is leaving my collection to hang at my close friend Carol’s cabin. This quilt is, and I’m guessing, about 15 years old. I made it around the time I wrote my two books, Machine Stitched Cathedral Windows and Machine Stitched Cathedral Stars.
